Have you added the #ItsintheBag essentials to your shopping list yet?
Each year we ask our amazing community to put together #ItsintheBag donations for adults, teens and mums and bubs.
Your donation involves finding a large new (or as-new) bag, and filling it with with personal hygiene essentials (plus as many little luxuries as you can). Your pre-filled bags can be dropped at BBMA Hornsby Dojo between November 2 and November 28.
Every single bag makes a huge difference to someone spending Christmas in a domestic violence refuge or homeless shelter.

Note: Really big bags work best. Back-packs are perfect, or any other big, spacious new (or as new) bag. Sensei Ann buys hers from K-Mart each year!
In 2024, the deadline for dropping your pre-filled bag off at BBMA Hornsby is Thursday November 28.
What to do:
- pick a BIG bag or backpack (2nd hand ‘as new’ bags are fine)
- fill it with all the ‘essentials’ (see list below) and as many extra luxury items as you can afford
What NOT to do:
- no used or opened items please. Only new and unopened products can be accepted.
- no sharp items or pharmaceuticals
- no food or drinks (not even chocolate! Harsh - we know )
- no aerosols (please pack roll-on deodorants only)
- don’t miss any ‘essential’ items

Get the kids involved and enjoy all the feel-good vibes, knowing you are doing something awesome for others.
You’ll be helping someone homeless or fleeing domestic violence, who finds themselves (arriving at a hospital, refuge or police station) in just the clothes they are wearing - and gets given a bag that YOU donated - filled to the brim with toiletries, period products and a few little luxuries/extras that you popped in there to let them know they matter
